Work with us
At Agulhas, we put our values at the heart of our work. Our team consists of highly experienced professionals who apply our best in class multidisciplinary approaches to some of the most pressing issues in international development. We offer competitive salaries, flexible work opportunities, structured career progression and rigorous safeguarding policies.
Our key benefits
Employee Ownership
All Agulhas employees are co-owners in the organisation, entitled to a say in company strategy, direction, policies and other systems through the co-owners’ forum.
Holiday
Along with the standard annual leave entitlement, Agulhas offers an additional day of annual leave for every 2 years’ service, up to 28 days.
Flexi-Friday
Each month, employees may accumulate their work hours earlier in the week, to allow for an early finish on a Friday.
Equity Standards
Agulhas is committed to the highest standards of equity, including the 2010 Equality Act, The Women Empowerment Principles, the Equity Index Assessment, and B Corp standards.
Flexible Working
Agulhas’ office is based in London, but we operate on a hybrid basis and allow up to 6 weeks per year to be worked from abroad.
Charity Support
Agulhas employees collectively decide on local charities that support marginalised communities to support financially, through pro bono work and paid volunteering hours.
Menstrual Health Support
We have a period-positive workplace as part of our menstrual and menopausal health policy, which includes providing menstrual products.
Family Leave
We have enhanced maternity and second parent leave policies, for adoption and IVF treatment, and shared parental leave.
Continuous Learning
Agulhas hosts regular ‘lunch and learns’ and supports employees with learning opportunities including accredited courses.
Mental Health Support
Agulhas subsidises mental health apps like Calm or Headspace. Employees are entitled to 1-to-1 counselling, from a provider specialised in supporting those in global development work.
Cycle to Work and EV Scheme
Staff can purchase a new bike at a subsidized price, or Electric Vehicle (EV), and pay for it through salary sacrifice contributions.
Profit Shares
As part of our employee-owned structure, we are able to distribute profit shares on an annual basis to all employees.
Flexible Religious Holiday
Employees may use the Good Friday Bank Holiday for an alternative religious festival that matters to them.
Living Wage
Agulhas always pays more than the London Living Wage, a voluntarily paid UK wage rate based on the cost of living and updated annually.
