DFIDs Education Programme in Three East African Countries (ICAI)
This review assesses the effectiveness and value for money of DFID’s bilateral education programmes in three East African countries – Ethiopia, Rwanda and Tanzania – over the period 2005-15. It concentrates on the provision of basic education. It considers not only whether DFID’s programmes have succeeded in what they set out to achieve but also whether this has delivered quality education, whether investments in education have been cost-effective and whether they are sustainable in the future.
